A small town man who adores the hardware store he is managing. He’s a likeable, kind, generous person who doesn’t go out socializing much.

An older, yet very efficient co-worker at the store. She has no problem stating her mind and won’t be pushed around by anyone. Very independent

Stanley Piper
A high school hardware store apprentice to Henry. He looks up to Henry as his “idol.” A really nice kid who wouldn’t hurt a fly and has some solid hardware store skills.

Jonathan Burns
A well-built, good-looking to the point of being sleezy, Life Insurance rep who basically runs the town to his advantage. He’s been a bully to Henry since high school, and an all-around not nice man.

Susan Amberson
A very smart, confident, and out-spoken (for the 1940’s) woman lawyer. She works in Chicago at a very reputable law firm and is up in Monroe, WI to visit her parents.

Amanda
A no-nonsense, very wise, angel-of-sorts, who is in charge of Middle Life. She’s magical, so appearing, disappearing, and taking a different form comes quite naturally for her.

Mr. MacDonald/Mover/2 Customers
Mr. MacDonald is Scottish and has an accent. He’s older, very wise, a mentor and second father to Henry. He and his families before him originally owned MacDonald’s Hardware Store. Henry apprenticed under him.

The Mover is a fun character. Certainly doesn’t have all of his wheels on the pavement – you know, kinda stupid. But lovable in his naïve stupidity and cluelessness.
