Milestones are powerful things. They’re ingrained in our psyche through our lives by what we have experienced, and also by what we have witnessed in others. I remembered when my dad turned 65 and retired from his job at a retirement facility he administered and chaplained for 30 years. Wow, I thought. This guy is freakin’ old!
At that time, the age of 65 was a distant thing that would never happen to me. I’d stay eternally young. Indestructible. Effervescent. I’d have the world by the tail, and nothing could stop me from living life to its fullest dream capacity.
Then “time” happened. Daaaaaaaaaaang.
I’m now the living epitome of milestone-reaching. 65. Retired (from my day job). Grand Pere to two gorgeous kids. Medicare. Holy crap, where’s the coffin?!
No! I’m not leading down that path!
For me, I decided to do just the opposite. It was time to do things fulltime that I never had the luxury to do before – I’m going to be the fulltime composer/librettist/writer/producer that I always dreamt to be. I’m going to actually have the time to dedicate my life to my creative endeavors and then market them through my company, Emerald Green Productions.
Et voila – a brand-spankin’ new website.
This new website is a part of that vision. This website is mainly for any theatre – from high school and university, to community and professional theatre – who would actually want to acquire a license to perform one of my musicals. Some cools things about the website:
- You can listen to 1 ½ minute selections of 32 songs from 4 musicals – 24 of them recorded in the Tanner-Monagle Studio in Milwaukee. The 7 songs for Mulberry, are live recordings from Casper College.
- You can listen to 1 complete song from the new opera I’m developing, The Lake Between Us. More on that show in an upcoming blog.
- You can fill out a form and request perusal copies of any or all of the scripts
- You can fill out a form and request a license to produce a show.
- The shows are competitively priced. All shows are fully orchestrated, and those orchestrations are included in the price of the license – no extra rental fees like MTI or Concord Theatricals. Save a thousand bucks.
- You can read a synopsis, see a cost estimate on what your rental cost might be, see the orchestration set up, song list, etc. All the information that you need to help you make an informed decision.
- The website is INCREDIBLY USER-FRIENDLY.
- It has this blog where I personally will be writing about new events, thoughts, updates on shows, progress on new works, book releases, etc.
So, here we go. Enjoy the website, listen to the music, look at the cool photos, read a script, and perhaps even rent a show. Emerald Green Productions is ready to help you achieve your own production dreams, and at the same time…
…hit another milestone of mine – at the ripe young age of 65.
