James Olm
James Olm, a composer/lyricist/librettist, has written four musicals: Obits, Emerald Green, Mulberry, and The Magdalene. The Magdalene, in collaboration with lyricist Shad Olsen, opened Off Broadway under the direction of Tony-Award winner, Richard Maltby, Jr. James’ musical score for the play Flight, by Arthur Giron, is published with Concord Theatricals. James was Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance at Casper College in Casper, Wyoming, and taught musical theatre there for fourteen years before his retirement. He is now working on a new musical opera, The Lake Between Us, based on the Lake Superior storm of 1905.
In addition to musicals and operas, James has published a new book, Musical Theatre Script and Song Analysis Through the Ages, available through Bloomsbury Publishing in London.
James is the proud father of three amazing adults, Leah, Rachel, and Jameson.
